We are a few weeks into the new year. A new year means one thing for many people. Time to write out those New Year's resolutions. Is volunteering and making a difference in the Tulsa community on your list? It's not too late to get started.

Ms. Emma purchased her aunt's home in 1990, which is in an at-risk neighborhood. Many of her windows will not close. Blankets and sheets overlay the open windows to help keep the home warm. Ms. Emma suffers from debilitating arthritis. Often, her pain is so severe that she is unable to sleep. Even with her daily arthritis pain, she has the strength and love to raise her granddaughter.
Mr. Ricardo & Mrs. Latosha are raising their four young children and one adult son who is living with a disability in a home they have lived in for 10 years. Their oldest son has Cerebral Palsy and requires the majority of their resources for his care. Their son is unable to walk, talk, use the toilet, or eat on his own. They have made modest repairs to their home over the past several years but are finding it harder to keep up with the repairs, both due to limited finances and limited knowledge of how to perform larger scope repairs.
In the spirit of the season of giving, it would be remiss to not to point out and express gratitude to all those who give to Rebuilding Together Tulsa, not just during the holiday season, but year round. Each Wednesday and Thursday, RTT is blessed to have two groups of volunteers who dedicate their time weekly to provide free home repairs for deserving low-income Tulsa homeowners.
